Euroshield® Rubber Roofing

Euroshield® is a roofing shingle made from recycled rubber, built in slate and shake profiles, engineered to last 50 years or more and guaranteed against hail. ACR is a Euroshield® Certified Installer in Kansas and Georgia — one of the few in either market.

What Euroshield is

Euroshield shingles are made from recycled rubber — largely reclaimed tires — pressed into slate and shake profiles. On the roof they read as real slate or cedar shake from the street, but they flex instead of shattering when hail hits, and they interlock for wind resistance rather than relying on a sealant strip like asphalt.

For homeowners in hail country, that difference is the whole point. An asphalt roof in Kansas can be destroyed by a single storm fifteen years before its rated life is up. A rubber roof is designed to take the hit and keep going.

Ranges reflect typical projects; your own number depends on roof size, pitch and complexity. The honest way to compare the two is cost per year of service plus the deductibles you would otherwise pay on storm claims — on that math, in hail country, rubber closes much of the gap.

Why the certified installer part matters

Rubber roofing is not installed like asphalt. Fastening pattern, the way the interlock is set, and the flashing details all differ, and manufacturer coverage depends on the roof being installed the way the manufacturer specifies. ACR is a Euroshield® Certified Installer, and we install these roofs regularly in both markets rather than once a season.

Frequently asked questions

Is Euroshield worth the cost?

If you plan to keep the house and you live where hail is a regular event, usually yes: you are buying one roof instead of two or three, and far fewer storm claims. If you expect to move within a few years, a quality asphalt roof is the more rational spend.

Will my insurance company discount it?

Some carriers discount impact-resistant roofing; the amount varies by carrier and state. Ask your agent what documentation they need — we can provide the product information for the file.

Does rubber roofing look like rubber?

Not from the ground. The slate and shake profiles are molded from real slate and cedar, and most people cannot tell the difference from the street.

Can it go on any house?

Almost any sloped roof. We check the deck and framing during the inspection, and the product’s weight is well within what a standard roof structure carries — it is considerably lighter than genuine slate.
